EOTM Radio remembers “Jeanne Cooper” – One of the ‘matriarchs’ last interviews with “Teangelo” (March 21, 2013)

Jeanne Cooper, who played Katherine Chancellor on “The Young and the Restless,” has died, she was 84. Her death was confirmed by her son, actor Corbin Bernsen, on his Twitter account.

“Mom passed this morning,” Bernsen posted. “She was in peace and without fear.”

Cooper had been suffering from an undisclosed illness. The cause of death was not given.

“Jeanne was the matriarch of the show in every sense of the word,” said Lauralee Bell, Christine/Cricket on “The Young and the Restless” and William Bell’s daughter.

“When you did work you were proud of, you’d hope for approval or a ‘good job’ from Jeanne as a child would from a parent. When things got too tense, she’d break the tension with her amazing wit. She would teach the younger actors without ever talking down to them. In fact, she would raise them up,” said Bell. “She always had my back and my parents (and our whole family) always had hers.”

On March 21st The Kick it Spot host Teangelo had a candid interview with Jeanne Cooper, to discuss her recent book release “Not Young; Still Restless.” Listen to what may very well be Cooper’s last interview.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is leaving ‘The View,” and according to US Weekly’s anonymous sources… it’s not voluntary. The announcement comes days after ABC announced Joy Behar too was leaving the show after 16 years. In the statement about Behar, ABC referred to Hasselbeck as a “valued member of the View” with a “long-term contract.”

The outlets source claims market research was ultimately Hasselbecks down fall, defining her as “too extreme and right-wing.” She was told yesterday that her contract would not be renewed.”

Hasselbeck’s departure would mean that “The View” is out two of its longest-running hosts.

Comedian Kevin Hart did his best to boost Saturday Night Live’s dwindling ratings.

There was plenty of good material and memorable performances however, some bloggers, writers and tweeters seemed a little disappointed. The funniest sketch of the night in my opinion was when Hart played the race card in a spoof of The Walking Dead…very funny sh*t.
