90′s hip hop star Chris Kelly has died, he was 34. The rapper passed away Wednesday afternoon after being found unresponsive in his home. Kelly was part of the duo “Kris Kross” and gained popularity for their backwards clothes and hit single “Jump.”
Their success led to instant fame in which the two toured with Michael Jackson, appeared on TV shows, and even had their own video game.
Investigator Betty Honey of the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office said Kelly was pronounced dead around 5 p.m. Wednesday at the south campus of the Atlanta Medical Center.
According to the AP, authorities say they are investigating his death as a possible drug overdose.
Honey said authorities are unsure of Kelly’s cause of death.
Kelly aka “Mac Daddy” performed alongside Chris Smith, known as “Daddy Mac.”
An autopsy is planned for Thursday morning.
