Teaser Trailer: Hate Crime
2013 EOTM Award Nominated Horror Films
By Tanya Blake
Since the horror genre is pretty much always ignored when awards season rolls around, EOTM Media figured… considering they are changing the landscape of award shows in Hollywood in terms of new media and traditional, why not take the time to add more shine to all things horror too.
The initiative was created and put in action…and it appears to be working. Nominations are slowly coming in for the 2013 EOTM Awards which debuts on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood – and you can best believe EOTM plans on showcasing the genre in a big way, offering nods in over 10 horror film categories.
Fans can rest assured in knowing that many of their favorites have a pretty good chance of being honored.
Jared Lee Masters‘ slasher film SLINK, has already two nominations “Best Director” and “Best Scream” Motion Picture Film.
And after watching the screening …my opinion on this one..well…it’s to die for. (shrugs)
The film opens up in the rural town of Wickenhaven and a psychotic tanning salon owner is responsible for the disappearances of many young, innocent girls, while his wife, an exotic purse designer, is willing to overlook his evil nature.

Ashton Kutcher suffers health scare while epitomizing ‘Steve Jobs’
By Carla B - Follow us: @Eotmpr on Twitter | EOTM.Media on Facebook
The things actors do to prepare for a role – I tell ya…never seizes to amaze me. Seems like just yesterday I wrote an article on Shia LaBeouf taking acid to embody his character in the film, ‘The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman.’
This just in, Ashton Kutcher apparently had an health scare in preparing for his role as Steve Jobs. Seriously, I couldn’t make this stuff up.
Kutcher admitted starting a fruit-only diet to prepare to play the Apple co-founder for the biopic Jobs. The movie closed out the Sundance Film Festival on Friday night.

Kutcher had this to say about his unfortunate experience:
“First of all, the fruitarian diet can lead to like severe issues,” Kutcher said after the film’s screening. “I went to the hospital like two days before we started shooting the movie. I was like doubled over in pain. My pancreas levels were completely out of whack,” Kutcher added. “It was really terrifying … considering everything.”
Kutcher shares his thoughts on Jobs:
“Jobs is my personal hero. He’s a guy who failed and got back on the horse. I think we can all sort of relate to that at some point in life.”
Steve Jobs died of pancreatic cancer on Oct. 5, 2011.
The film is the first of two biopics about the entrepreneur’s life. Aaron Sorkin is writing the screenplay for a competing project being produced by Sony Pictures.
Jobs is due in theaters in April. Josh Gad plays Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in the film, which was directed by Joshua Michael Stern.

Rob Lowe stars in ‘Knife Fight.’(Richard Shotwell/Invision/AP) Rob Lowe plays a high-powered political fixer in “Knife Fight,” a man who cleans up the sordid messes of his candidate clients. His Machiavellian moxie is amusing and so, fitfully, is the film he figures in, directed and co-written…
Shia LaBeouf took acid to ‘understand his troubled character’ in ‘The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman’
Talk about going all in for a movie role. Transformers star Shia LaBeouf filmed himself while high on acid to prepare himself for a new role where he plays a drug addict. And according to MTV.com LaBeouf sent tapes to his co-star Evan Rachel Wood to get feedback.
The film in question, ‘The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman,’ which hit theaters on December 31, 2012.
“I remember sending Evan tapes. I remember trying to conjure this (drug-addicted character) and sending tapes and Evan being like, ‘Yeah, that’s good, but that’s not, but this is, but that ain’t (sic).’ Not like she’s the expert on set. I’m just saying you reach out to friends and you sort of gauge where you’re at. So I was sending tapes around,” Shia shared with MTV.
The actor also admitted that it took a few acid attempts to nail his performance, but he insists he was never “wasted” on set.
He adds, “You don’t show up wasted. You don’t show up completely tripping on acid. But you’re rooting for something (the feeling of being on drugs) and you’re pushing yourself toward it. Everyone’s got their own way.”

The NAACP President’s Award, chosen by NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous, is bestowed in recognition of special achievement and distinguished public service. Past honorees include Van Jones, President Bill Clinton, Soledad O’Brien, Ruby Dee, Muhammad Ali, and most recently, the Founding Members of the Black Stuntmen’s Association.
“For the first time in 40 years, we have a black woman playing the leading role in a primetime drama on network television. Kerry Washington is a modern trailblazer,” states Jealous. “Her talent and will have taken her to heights we have not seen in years. She extends the tradition of women like Ruby Dee, Cicily Tyson, and Lena Horne. Rather than seeing her professional success as cause for political silence, she has chosen to use it as a platform for social change. Her championing of the rights of women around the world, and her early work to campaign for President Barack Obama are examples of her willingness to be a politically active and risk-taking woman in real life even as she plays one on TV.”
NAACP award-winning actress, Kerry Washington, is a versatile and fearless actress with an impressive and diverse body of work. With the critical and commercial success of her most recent projects (Django Unchained and ABC’s Scandal) garnering industry-wide acclaim, as well as her involvement with President Obama’s re-election campaign, Washington has proven herself to be an emerging power player in Hollywood as well as a social and political activist within the community.
Washington is an active member of the V-Counsel, an esteemed group of advisors to V-Day, the global movement to end violence against women and girls, and she serves on the board of Voices of a People’s History, a non-profit arts and education group. She also sits on the Artist’s Committee for the largest national advocacy association for the arts, Americans For The Arts. In 2008, Washington received several accolades including the Women’s Project Women of Achievement Award, the GWU Alumni Association’s Recent Alumni Achievement Award, and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Phoenix Award, for Washington’s commitment to social advocacy. In 2009, Washington received the US Conference of Mayors Artist-Citizen Award for public leadership in the arts. That year she was also named a member of President Obama’s Committee for the Arts and Humanities, headed by First Lady Michelle Obama.
Originally from The Bronx, New York, Washington is a graduate of The Spence School. In 1998, she graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from The George Washington University.
