BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – The “Social Network” won top honors Sunday at the Golden Globes with four prizes, including best drama and director, solidifying its prospects as an Academy Awards favorite. Congrats!

The Social Network received more nominations than any other movie this year from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which runs the Golden Globe Awards.

While Facebook publicists maintain that the movie isn’t a factually correct account of the company, the public has come to regard it as such. So the multiple Globe wins, including best dramatic picture, seems to benefit the real-life social network.

The timing of the Globes tends to influence people’s expectations for the Oscars, although the former includes television while the latter only deals with movies. Nominations for the 83rd annual Academy Awards are expected to be announced at 8:30 am January 25, and the ceremony will take place February 27.

The “Black Swan” Actress arrived onstage to receive her Golden Globe and not only thanked her soon-to-be hubby Benjamin Millepied — whom she met on the set of “Swan — but she pointed out that in addition to his top-notch ballet skills, he’s got some acting ability as well.

“Thank you to Benjamin, who is helping me continue this creation of creating more life,” the pregnant star said of Millepied after she thanked her parents for raising her.”Benjamin choreographed the film, and also you might remember him in the movie as the guy when they ask, ‘Would you sleep with that girl?’ And he’s like, ‘Pffsh, no.’ He’s the best actor. It’s not true: He totally wants to sleep with me!” she laughed heartily.

Sunday’s win is the second trophy Portman has picked up in three days. The starlet also nabbed Best Actress at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Friday.

The live celebrity talent came out in support of the NAACP Annual event despite an early morning press conference that brought out local media in groves. Actresses Kimberly Elise and Sanaa Lathan, Actor/Rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Singer/Songwriter Smokey Robinson, Actor Columbus Short and Actor/Comedian Affion Crockett joined NAACP Image Awards chairman Clayola Brown and 42^nd NAACP Image Awards Executive Producer Vic Bulluck to announce the categories and nominees as well as sharing with the listening audience a impromptu history lesson on the organization that was started over 100 years ago.

The NAACP Image Awards celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in the field of television, music, literature and film. The awards also honor individuals who promote social justice through creative endeavors. ABC and NBC lead the nominees in the TV categories, each having 18 nominations, followed by CBS and Lifetime Movie Network both with 10 nominations. Columbia Records lead the recording categories with seven nominations, closely followed by J records and Island Def Jam Music Group with six and Epic Records with 5 nominations. Lionsgate/34^th Street Films lead with seven nominations, while Fox Searchlight followed with six and Magnolia Pictures with five in the motion picture category.

The nominees for “Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series” are David Mann for Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns, Dule Hill for Psych, La Van Davis for Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, Phil Morris for Love that Girl and Terry Crews from Are We There Yet.

Kanye Blasts Today Show

Kanye West scrapped a planned concert for America’s ‘Today Show’, after a huge fall out with TV execs over his recent interview on the program.

Kanye was due to perform on the show to promote his new album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, but is now refusing to honor the commitment. The reason? An uncomfortable interview on ‘The Today Show’ earlier in the week left Kanye feeling “alone, used and tortured” after they played a clip his VMA outburst with Taylor Swift. Too funny!

Kanye took to his Twitter account to express his anger.

He tweeted, “I’m not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons… I blatantly said I’m not performing on a Tweet and to everyone around me and the next day they still announced a performance.

“Do you guys see what I’m saying now? This is just a small slice of the day-to-day bulls**t that goes on that helps to precipitate the idea that (I’m) such an a**hole. Cause when I don’t perform ‘Oh now I’m the one that’s crazy or a jerk.’ ”

Earlier in the week Kanye had complained about the Today show interview through his Twitter.

He tweeted, “Let me tell you how they did me at the Today show… While I was trying to give the interview they started playing the MTV (clip) under me with audio!… I don’t mess with Matt Lauer or the Today Show… and that’s a very nice way for me to put it! He tried to force my answers. It was very brutal and I came there with only positive intent. I feel very alone, very used, very tortured, very forced, very misunderstood, very hollow, very very misused.”

T.I. will not be prosecuted for the felony drug charges steaming from his arrest in September, according to reports. Prosecutors say the amount of drugs weren’t significant enough to press charges. However he will still be heading to the slammer.

Law enforcement discovered four ecstasy pills on the ATL rapper when he was pulled over on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip.

After serving a 10 month prison sentence for federal weapons charges, a Georgia judge sentenced T.I to another 11 months in prison for breaking his federal parole with this latest arrest.

According to the conditions of his parole T.I was to take at least three drug tests after his release and to actively participate in a drug and alcohol treatment program.

The day after the arrest, T.I. was ordered to take a drug test, in which he tested positive for marijuana and codeine, the key ingredient in lean.

The arrest and the positive drug tests were violations of T.I.’s parole from his previous arrest on gun charges, for which he spent 10 months behind bars.

T.I. begged the judge to have mercy, pleading that he has a drug problem and needs help, and saying that he “screwed up.”

The sentence comes only two days after T.I. talked a man down from jumping off a 22-story building.

Apparently in California, if you’re a white actress or hotel heiress/porn-star who has nothing to offer you get off easier than a black rapper who saves lives.

One of the hottest west coast concerts of the year is set to take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on September 18, 2010 representing the Old Skool and New Skool of Hip Hop and none other than Comedian/Actor Louis Smith aka Tre Luv will be in attendance as part of the talent.

The concert is set to highlight Pop/R&B/Hip Hop Singer Trueful, celebrating his album release. Dru Hill, H Town, Silk and many more phenomenal entertainers will be in the house.
