According to Georgia State Trooper,  First Class J. Pyland, Toth was seen weaving in and out of his lane as he drove through the city’s Buckhead community. Upon pulling the couple over “Mrs. Witherspoon began to hang out the window and say that she did not believe that I was a real police officer,” Pyland wrote in his report. “I told Mrs. Witherspoon to sit on her butt and be quiet.”

Witherspoon allegedly did not follow his order, getting out of the vehicle instead. When the trooper warned her again, Witherspoon allegedly told him she was a U.S. citizen and allowed to “stand on American ground.”

“I put my hands on Mrs. Witherspoon’s arms to arrest her,” Pyland wrote. “Mrs. Witherspoon was resistant but I was able to put handcuffs on her without incident due to Mr. Toth calming her.”

Match.com- Canada- Mosaic “Do you know my name?” he said Witherspoon asked. “I answered, ‘No, I don’t need to know your name.’”

“You’re about to find out who I am,” she replied, the arrest report said.

Their car was impounded and the two were taken to the Atlanta city jail, the report said. An unidentified passenger in the back seat caught a cab.

The couple were bailed out of jail Saturday morning. A court date is set for Monday morning.

On Sunday night Witherspoon officially made statement on her arrest:

“I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. The words I used that night definitely do not reflect who I am. I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behavior.”

Witherspoon is in Atlanta filming the indie movie The Good Lie.

Death and Taxes: Wesley Snipes and other Celebs that paid royally – EOTM Media

By Carla B. – Follow us: @eotmpr on Twitter |eotm.media on Facebook

“Why can’t celebrities pay their taxes like the rest of us?”

On April 2nd actor/entrepreneur Wesley Snipes was released from a federal prison and transferred to the New York Community Corrections Office where he will be confined to house arrest until July 19th. TMZ was the first to break the story.

Wesley Snipes - Photo credit: Wikipedia/Getty

In 2006 Snipes was convicted on three misdemeanor counts of failing to file tax returns in 2008 and began serving his sentence in 2010.

The Vampire Slayer belonged to a group that challenged the government’s right to collect taxes. Prosecutors argued he failed to file returns for at least a decade and owed over 17 million dollars in back taxes.

While some celebrities engage in various attempts to avoid paying taxes, from filing false returns to hiding money overseas, regardless of the method or fame of the individual, the government can force those guilty of tax fraud to pay back taxes and penalties, and serve time in confinement—a costly lesson for an avoidable mistake.

Other celebrities that paid royally to Uncle Sam

1. Martha Stewart: Stewart was forced to pay $220,000 in back taxes and penalties to the State of New York.

2. Ja Rule: Multi-platinum selling rap artist Ja Rule failed to pay taxes on more than $3 million that he earned between 2004 and 2006 while living in Saddle River, NJ.  He pleaded guilty to three counts of unfiled taxes, admitting he hadn’t filed for five years, according to U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman. The rapper was sentenced to two years in prison. The hip hop star told a federal judge that he had received bad financial advice and had trouble coping with fame.

3. Lauryn Hill: Next up is hip hop icon Lauryn Hill who just happens to reside in the Garden State of New Jersey. In 2012 the grammy-winning singer pleaded guilty in federal court, to three counts of failing to file federal income tax returns. Hill pleaded guilty to failing to file federal returns between 2005 and 2007, despite earning an income of more than $1.8 million. Each count carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $100,000 fine.

4. Willie Nelson: After seizing most of his assets in 1990, the federal government forced Willie to pay over $16 million in back taxes and fines for his involvement with a bogus tax shelter.

5. Nicolas Cage: According to the IRS, in 2009 Cage owed approximately $6 million in back taxes. The actor accused his ex-manager and accountant of making poor investment choices.

6. Marc Anthony: In 2007, the IRS served Anthony with $2.5 million in back tax bills. Then in 2010, he received two additional bills totaling over $3 million for unpaid taxes on real estate. Marc Anthony also blamed management.

7. Heidi Fleiss: Known as “The Hollywood Madam,” Fleiss ran a prostitution ring during the early 1990s. Although she never named names, her business attracted clients who were well-known and well-off. Ultimately, she was arrested in June 1993. Fleiss was convicted of federal tax evasion charges, which carried a seven-year prison sentence.

8. Pete Rose: Rose made his name with the Cincinnati Reds, first as a player and later as a manager. Despite his many on-field accomplishments the Baseball icon was caught gambling on games, including those played by his own team. He was sentenced to five months in prison and fined $50,000 for tax evasion, according to The Associated Press.

9. Martha Stewart: The savvy business woman accumulated a $220,000 tax debt for not paying taxes on her East Hampton, New York, home, which she claimed she spent very little time at and therefore thought she didn’t need to pay taxes on. She was sentenced to five months in prison and five months of home confinement. Stewart was also fined $30,000.

Police department spokesman Sgt. Greg Lyon says the rapper is accused of hitting Lettley in the head, causing a gash on the man’s head. Police say Lettley was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Apparently the rapper left before they arrived and was possibly traveling in a white Chevy Tahoe.

Coroner Releases New Report on Natalie Wood Death

Published by EOTM News Editor on January 14th, 2013 - in Breaking News, Celebrity Justice, Entertainment News

Los Angeles County coroner’s office have released a new report that states there are conflicting statements surrounding Natalie Woods death. The new information released notes the boats occupants accounts do not add up, also adding the time of her death which was around midnight and she was reported missing at 1:30 a.m.

Natalie Wood - Getty Image

Coroner’s officials amended the death certificate based on unanswered questions about bruises on her upper body but were lacking several pieces of evidence and could only conclude that she drowned under undetermined circumstances more than 30 years ago.

Los Angeles County coroner’s officials state in an 10-page addendum to Wood’s autopsy report that some of the bruises may have occurred before she went into the water and drowned, but that could not be definitively determined.

The report reveals new details about a renewed investigative interest in Wood’s case, but it does not answer many of lingering questions about the actress’ death and a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said it has not changed the ongoing status of the case.

Officials reviewed Wood’s case after sheriff’s investigators in late 2011 renewed their inquiry into her November 1981 drowning. Wood’s death certificate was amended last year to change her cause of death from drowning to “drowning and other undetermined factors” and the report released Monday details the reasons for the alteration.

The certificate was also amended to state that the circumstances of how the Oscar-nominated actress ended up in the water were “not clearly established.”

Wood was on a yacht off Catalina Island with husband Robert Wagner and co-star Christopher Walken on Thanksgiving weekend in 1981 before somehow ending up in the water. A dinghy that was attached to the boat was found along the island’s shoreline, but investigators could not locate it to review it last year.

Several of the original coroner’s investigators who worked on the case were re-interviewed, and officials attempted to test some items taken during the investigation into Wood’s death and an autopsy, but they could not be located.

Wood’s autopsy found bruises on both of her arms, a small scratch on her neck and abrasions described as superficial on her forehead, left brow and cheek.

“The location of the bruises, the multiplicity of the bruises, lack of head trauma, or facial bruising support bruising having occurred prior to entry in the water,” the report states. “Since there are unanswered questions and limited additional evidence available for evaluation, it is opined by this Medical Examiner that the manner of death should be left as undetermined,” Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran wrote in the report completed in June.

Officials also considered that Wood wasn’t wearing a life jacket and had no history of suicide and didn’t leave a note in amending its report and Wood’s death certificate.

The report was released Monday after sheriff’s officials released a security hold.

Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said the agency has known about the findings in the newly released autopsy report for several months and it does not change the status of the investigation, which remains open. He said Wagner is not considered a suspect in Wood’s death.

Wood was nominated for three Academy Awards during her lifetime. Her death stunned the world and has remained one of Hollywood’s most enduring mysteries. The original detective on the case, Wagner, Walken have all said they considered her death an accident.

Conflicting versions of what happened on the yacht shared by Wood, her actor-husband Robert Wagner and their friend, actor Christopher Walken, have contributed to the mystery of how the actress died.

The AP contributed to this report.

Poor Lindsay Lohan — will She Ever Work Again? Critics say, Unlikely…

After negative reviews of  ‘Liz & Dick,’ some critics believe bad girl Lindsay Lohan may never get another opportunity to prove her skills haven’t  been spent. All of this on top of a recent arrest in New York today (Thursday) whereas Lohan got into a fight with a woman at Club Avenue in Manhattan, allegedly punching her in the face, this according to an NYPD spokeswoman.

Cops arrested Lohan at around 4 a.m. outside the club, and she was charged with assault.

TJH 125*125

Lohan was subsequently released from custody shortly before 8 a.m., covering herself with a black jacket as she left the precinct. Authorities say they expect Lohan to be issued a desk-appearance ticket.

It’s the latest legal headache for the embattled actress.

Credit: INFphoto.com

Recently MTV News reached out to a panel of industry experts and asked them,’will Lindsay Lohan ever find work as an actress again?”

Here is what the experts said, courtesy of MTV News:

“You keep hoping that she’s going to get her act together, so does everyone in Hollywood. They keep rooting for her, and she blows it every time,” lamented Access Hollywood’s film critic Scott Mantz. “She’s got more breaks from people in Hollywood than anyone in her position deserves to get but she does not give the impression of someone who really wants to get her career back on track. She should not be going out. She should be sitting home reading scripts and get her career back on track. She is not doing that.”

Another problem, aside from whatever legal fallout and potential jail time occurs given this latest arrest, is Lohan’s box-office appeal, which has been in steep decline since her last major hit with 2004′s “Mean Girls.”

“She hasn’t been able to do much at the box office for years, and I’m pretty sure it will remain that way for the rest of her career unless a great director decides to take a chance on her,” BoxOffice.com chief analyst Phil Contrino told MTV News of Lohan’s bleak professional forecast. “It’s all TV movies and straight-to-VOD movies for the foreseeable future.”

TV movies and direct-to-video roles, if she’s lucky that is, since it will take a lot of faith and insurance money to fund any future Lohan production, given her checkered past. We asked a well-respected talent agent to explain what kind of insurance would be required for such a project.

“Most of the time, when you are talking about insurance, you are talking about a completion bond. The easiest way to understand it is to think about it like car insurance, where the movie is your car,” explained the agent. “If you wreck your car, your insurance company gives you back most of the money to fix or replace your car. In the movie business, the insurance company pays the producers back their money they’ve invested in making the movie if for some reason it is not completed. The insurance company bases their fee on how likely it is that the movie will be made on time and for the budget the producers have, just like when you are getting car insurance your premium is based on your driving history. For a producer to get a completion bond for a movie starring Lindsay, it’s like trying to get car insurance with a bunch of recent speeding tickets and accidents.”

All that said, Hollywood will continue to hold out hope for a comeback story, providing that Lohan can get a handle on her personal struggles and stay out of trouble.

“I feel that it’s a miracle she’s lasted this long. It’s really sad,” said Mantz. “She doesn’t exude the persona of someone who is trying to bounce back. There is no way she should think about going to a club. What are you doing? Stop. All she needs is one strong person to keep her on straight and narrow — whether a family member, boyfriend, therapist, just somebody to cut her off.”

Our agency insider added that Lohan would have to actually commit to staying out of the spotlight and deal with her personal and legal troubles before anyone will hire her again, and added that no matter how bad it gets, tinsel town will always welcome a comeback.

“If she can get her personal life in order and really wants to be a serious actor again, she’ll work and do well. A director will take a chance on her, most likely in an indie. If she proves she can still do it, we’ll all forget about her recent problems and remember her for the good actress she is.”

Right Start

Mantz advised Lohan to try and follow the Robert Downey Jr. model of comeback success.

“The best example of a comeback is Robert Downey Jr.,” he said. “In the beginning of 2008 Robert Downey Jr. was a washed-up Oscar nominee. With one very good movie ['Iron Man'] he became an A-list superstar. All it takes is for Lindsay to have one hit movie and she’s on top again,” Mantz continued. “If they ever make a movie with one of Spider-Man’s love interests, a character called the Black Cat, if she popped up in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3′ and Lindsay played her, that’s the kind of role people would go, ‘She’s back.’ ”

Before that can happen, however, all three experts agreed that the former Disney star needs to prove to the world that she’s ready to be taken seriously. Otherwise, we’ll just expect more tabloid fodder.

Gold Medal winning snowboarder Shaun White apologizes after being arrested

Olympic snowboarding medalist Shaun White apologized Tuesday, a day after his arrest on vandalism and public intoxication charges at a hotel in Nashville.

Credit: Metropolitan Police Department

White, 26, was arrested after allegedly trashing his Nashville hotel room. White also allegedly attempted to attack a hotel guest who tried to subdue him.

According to the Public Affairs Manager Don Aaron for the Metropolitan Police Department , the Olympic gold medalist was charged with vandalism and public intoxication following a chain of overnight events early Sunday morning at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel on West End Avenue where White was a guest. Officers responded to the hotel at 2 a.m. Sunday regarding an intoxicated man, reportedly White, who allegedly pulled a fire alarm at the hotel which caused the evacuation of all guests. An employee also said that he saw White destroy a hotel phone.

White reportedly attempted to flee the hotel in a cab but a citizen prevented the cab from leaving, telling the driver he was calling police. When White overheard their conversation, he allegedly kicked the citizen and fled on foot. The citizen reported that he chased White until White turned and ran into him apparently causing White to fall backwards and strike his head against a fence. White was transported to a local hospital
for treatment. He was released late this afternoon and is free on his own recognizance.Halloween Costumes

The citizen declined to prosecute White for assault. Responding officers Sunday reported that White appeared to be extremely intoxicated and smelled strongly of alcohol. Arrest warrants charging White with vandalism and public intoxication were issued Sunday after he refused to sign misdemeanor citations.

The snowboarder, nicknamed “The Flying Tomato” for his distinctive red hair, posted an apology on his Facebook page Tuesday.

“I want to apologize for the unwise choices I made over the weekend and for any inconvenience it caused my family, friends, business partners, the hotel and their guests,” White wrote. “I was celebrating a happy occasion with a ton of family and friends and got carried away. I’m truly sorry for my poor behavior.”

‘John Travolta’ and lawyer Marty Singer sued for libel

Follow @eotmpr on Twitter for Breaking Celebrity news and your favorite trending topics —

Robert Randolph, the author of a recent book on Pulp Fiction star John Travolta’s alleged sexual encounters with men, filed a libel lawsuit on Thursday against the actor and his attorney, Martin Singer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Kevin Winter/Getty Images

Randolph’s book, You’ll Never Spa in This Town Again, details Travolta’s alleged sexual encounters with other men in bath houses.

The lawsuit alleges causes of action for trade libel, intentional and negligent interference with prospective advantage.

Say what!?

In layman’s terms Randolph claims Travolta and his attorney Martin Singer spread false statements about his mental health in 2010 in a bid to dissuade the public from buying his planned book. He is seeking unspecified damages in the legal action filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Singer shot down Randolph’s accusations in a statement,  “The lawsuit filed by Robert Randolph is absurd. The suit is based on a privileged communication, and it will promptly be thrown out by the court. To evaluate the credibility of Robert Randolph and his ridiculous lawsuit one need look no further than his own statements published on his website stating that he sustained ‘permanent brain damage’ and had to ‘retrain’ his brain. Mr. Travolta will aggressively defend himself against this lawsuit and expects to be fully vindicated when this meritless case is dismissed.”

Singer also claims their concerns about Randolph’s mental health do not fall under libel, as they were made in a private letter to a third party. Travolta’s attorney plans to turn the tables on the author by filing a lawsuit of their own.
