The singer and ‘X Factor’ judge reveals the harsh realities of her drug and alcohol abuse in a new interview.
District prosecutors on Monday lowered an assault charge against R&B singer Chris Brown, who is accused of punching a man during a fight outside the W hotel in DC, from a felony to a misdemeanor, according to court records. Brown told police he did not punch the man, according to court papers.
See complete story below.
Hip hop star Chris Brown and a bodyguard were arrested Sunday morning and charged with felony assault, according to Washington Metropolitan Police Department.
The 24 year old R&B singer and bodyguard Christopher Hollosy were allegedly involved in an altercation with another man outside the W Hotel early this morning, police confirmed.
The alleged victim told TMZ … he and a friend were hanging out at the W when they saw 2 women about to take a picture with Brown. The victim — who says he’s not a Chris Brown fan — says he and his buddy photo bombed the 2 women and Chris went nuts, punching him in the face and BREAKING HIS NOSE.
Law enforcement sources and the alleged victim also reportedly told TMZ … before striking the man, Chris said, “I’m not into this gay s**t, I’m into boxing.” After Chris punched the man, the fight was taken to the ground.
Chris and his bodyguard were taken into custody and were being held at the 2nd District police station according to the report.
Brown had been scheduled to perform Saturday night at a Howard University homecoming-related party at The Park at Fourteenth.
The singer is on probation in California for a felony domestic violence conviction involving his former girlfriend Rihanna. Any arrest could be considered a violation of that probation, which could result in jail time.
Prosecutors filed probation violation charges against him twice in the past year, resulting in the judge ordering him to complete an additional 1,000 hours of community service.
He was also accused of hit-and-run following a minor traffic crash earlier this year. The driver of the other car told investigators that Brown “went ballistic” and screamed at her after his Range Rover rear-ended her Mercedes on a Los Angeles street.
In August, Brown’s lawyer reached a settlement with prosecutors to end their efforts to revoke his probation. The deal called for Brown to complete another 1,000 hours of community service.
He is scheduled to appear before Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James Brandlin on November 20 for a probation status hearing.

Dressed in a prison-gear ensemble, complete with jumpsuit, badge, and her hair in Crazy Eyes’s signature knots.
I thought it was rather creative [shruggs] but some of her industry peers did not.
Actress Martha Plimpton, who thought the decision was in bad taste, weighed in on Twitter:
Her costume created a frenzy as media outlets blew up with users voicing their opinions.
@l_choice2001 writes, ‘what is wrong with white people and black face?!?!?!’ while @tnwhiskeywoman states, ‘The hair & ID BADGE should’ve been enough. @juliannehough YOU HAD AN ID BADGE TO INDICATE WHO YOU WERE. You didn’t need offensive blackface.’
No Really, Who Told Julianne Hough It Was Okay To Wear Blackface For Halloween?’ asks @bethmileyreport.
And many others haven’t been so nice, calling the star out on her behaviour, deeming it ‘never OK’, a ‘bad idea’ and just plain ‘racist’, while others have questioned whether or not it was a publicity stunt.
Today, Hough took to Twitter to apologize for her idea of funny writing, “I am a huge fan of the show Orange is the New black, actress Uzo Aduba, and the character she has created. It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize.”
I say leave Hough alone….geesh…its Halloween!
Comic-turned-social critic Russell Brand’s latest shocking public performance may have just attempted to incite a global revolution.
When last we heard from Brand, he was at the GQ awards, calling out Hugo Boss for creating uniforms for the Nazis. Now he’s taking on the global political system in his role as guest editor of The New Statesman and as a guest on the BBC.
“The planet is being destroyed,” Brand argued in a recent interview televised on the BBC. “We are creating an underclass and exploiting poor people all over the world. And the legitimate problems of the people are not being addressed by our political powers.”
Brand, who has already established himself as a talented writer, suggests that change is coming, and though it would be overkill to go out and buy 50 cans of beans and thousands of shotgun shells for protection, have you seen what they’re playing on the Discovery Channel recently?
Of course, the real question is: why doesn’t the US have a series of articulate celebrities? Regardless of what Brand is saying, he has a coherent answer for every different question, which is a lot more than we can say for the people we choose to put on TV. Imagine if Daniel Tosh or Dane Cook were asked to edit an issue of Dissent. Actually…don’t.
The internet basically exploded when megalomaniac (but borderline musical and business genius) Kanye West began spewing rage-filled Tweets about Jimmy Kimmel after the comedian recreated West’s recent BBC One interview with children.
Media outlets are reposting West’s caps-lock-only rants, ranging from reasonable (albeit hyperbolic) criticism ….
Of course, given the nature of this particular feud (Kanye is still seething), we’re inclined to believe him. But if more and more fans do not, Kimmel’s overall brand could take a hit. Even though comedians have license to toy with their audience, says Nick Nanton, CEO of The Dicks + Nanton Celebrity Branding Agency, ”he’s walking a fine line. Not many people will hang around if they feel like they’re the butt of the joke.”

Video News by NewsLook Amanda Bynes’ parents are reportedly seeking temporary conservatorship for their daughter because they feel she may harm herself or others. Here’s what they have to prove.
On Monday night troubled actress Amanda Bynes was accused of starting a fire in a neighbors driveway in Thousand Oaks, California and was subsequently put in hospital on a 5150 psychiatric hold. 5150 is a section of the California Welfare code, which regulates involuntary hospitalization. It is used “when any person, as a result of mental disorder, is a danger to others, or to himself or herself, or gravely disabled.”
“Amanda seems to be doing well,” a source told us of her hospital stay, adding that a treatment plan was being discussed. “The thing with Amanda is that it isn’t as bizarre as it seems. She knows when to pull it together and act normal.”
The night before being taken in, Bynes, 26, is said to have been drunk and caused a disturbance outside a local Thousand Oaks retirement village. The former child star reportedly tried to leave in a taxi, but was kicked out when she declared she had no money, and police were later called when Bynes attempted again to get inside the retirement facility.
According to Radar Online, Bynes’s parents Rick and Lynn, haven’t spoken with their daughter since she was hospitalized on an involuntary psychiatric hold in Los Angeles but are now considering getting a conservatorship over her.
TMZ reports the woman in whose driveway she started her fire wants her parents to pay for the damage, but they have refused.
Justin Bieber’s reign of teenage terror continues, this time with the oh-so-classy move of reliving himself in a mop bucket inside a nightclub kitchen.
TMZ released video of what appears to be Bieber, 19, urinating into a mop bucket while his friends film and narrate the incident. Off-camera, a young male voice notes that it’s a moment they should all remember because it’s so much cooler than using a restroom.
Bieber, in a pair of his signature drop-crotch harem pants, wears a pair of blue headphones as he urinates. When he’s done, the Bieber crew, who called themselves “Wild Kidz,” head out, but not before Bieber brandishes a bottle of blue liquid, sprays a photo of Bill Clinton and spews an expletive at the former president.
According to TMZ, the mop bucket-episode took place in NYC earlier this year.

Alec Baldwin has apologized after he used homophobic slurs to violently threaten a British reporter who said his wife Hilaria Thomas had tweeted about wedding presents and TV appearances during James Gandolfini’s funeral on Thursday.
“If put my foot up your f**king ass, George Stark, but I’m sure you’d dig it too much,” one tweet read.
“I’m gonna find you George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I’m gonna f**k you… up,” he added.
Baldwin denied Thomas had tweeted during the funeral, and said the tweets were instead made after the New York City service: “My wife DID NOT use her phone, in any capacity, at our friends funeral. Now, f**k this twitter + good luck to all of you who know the truth.”
The 55-year-old actor’s Twitter account was disabled following the rant.
Baldwin wrote the following to GLAAD:
“My ill-advised attack on George Stark…had absolutely nothing to do with issues of anyone’s sexual orientation. My anger was directed at Mr. Stark for blatantly lying and disseminating libelous information about my wife and her conduct at our friend’s funeral service. As someone who fights against homophobia, I apologize.
A rep for Baldwin stated that Thomas did not tweet during the service.”It’s disgraceful that a reporter would manufacture and publish a story and not call for comment or explanation — especially when it’s intended to take away attention from honoring the memory of a beloved figure like James Gandolfini,” the rep stated. “There are multiple witnesses to the fact that Hilaria left her phone in the car and wouldn’t, couldn’t, and didn’t tweet during the service.”

ATLANTA — Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown may have lashed out at a neighbor, leaving a nasty note after complaints of too much noise coming from her apartment.
According to a report from the Alpharetta, Ga., police department, filed Tuesday, the note said:
You are s— at the bottom our our shoe.
Thank You for making a hard year harder.
You are a miserable couple and always will be
You were honored to have us living above you and you couldn’t stand such a young beautiful couple far more successful than you ever will be. I pray your misery doesn’t rub off on your innocent little baby.
Neighbor Joshua Morse, who received the note, said he and his wife have filed more than 10 noise complaints against Brown.
Neighbors say Brown, whose boyfriend is her adopted brother Nick Gordon, has turned in her keys and left the complex.
According to E! News, Brown’s representative is refuting rumors that Brown was evicted. The rep said Wednesday that Brown left because of the complaints and that friends of Brown wrote the note.
According to animal control records, another neighbor called Fulton County animal services, concerned that an abandoned dog was left in the apartment after Brown moved out. The dog was picked up before animal control officers had a chance to respond.

Reese Witherspoon’s dash cam arrest footage is now live, released first by TMZ early Friday. The footage shows the actress being handcuffed and led into a police vehicle and her husband Jim Toth notably telling the officer, “I had nothing to do with that.”
Back in April the Oscar winning actress and her husband were arrested in Atlanta. Witherspoon was charged with interfering with the arrest of her husband, while he was arrested on a drunken driving charge.
The couple were bailed out hours later.
Witherspoon released an officially statement on her arrest a day later:
“I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. The words I used that night definitely do not reflect who I am. I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behavior.”
