Tom Sizemore’s Memoir “By Some Miracle I Made It Out of There” nominated for a EOTM Award

By Carla B.

Follow this author on Twitter@eotmpr & Facebook @eotm.media

The memoir is a candid Tell-All detailing affairs With Elizabeth Hurley & Juliette Lewis

Actor Tom Sizemore is dishing out the goods on what his life in Hollywood entailed, highlighting it all in a new memoir, By Some Miracle I Made It Out of There.”

Tom Sizemore: Credit - TomSizemore.com

The Detroit native is best known for movies such as Saving Private Ryan, Natural Born Killers and Hawaii Five-O, of which… apparently he has led an charismatic life worthy of chronicling.

From the pages of his autobiography the actor calls himself a “spoiled movie star” and an “arrogant fool. Revealing in the midst of his career achievements that he endured a roller-coaster of success and frustration, and in a sense a plethora of ‘absolute nothing-less.’

Sizemore writes:

“I was a guy who’d come from very little and risen to the top … I’d had the multimillion-dollar house, the Porsche, the restaurant I partially owned with Robert De Niro. And now I had absolutely nothing. I’ve led an interesting life, but I can’t tell you what I’d give to be the guy you didn’t know anything about,” he said.

He also recounts his friendships with Hollywood’s elite such as  Sean Penn and Robert Downey Jr.

The memoir goes on to catalog demons the actor fought while working over two decades in Hollywood,  including a capricious relationship with celebrity madam Heidi Fleiss as well as a 4 month relationship with Juliette Lewis.

The book is written in a plain, sometimes coarse text befitting some of the hard-boiled characters Sizemore brought to life on screen. And the subject matter was at times a little difficult to stomach — sex tapes, copious amounts of drug taking, etc.

But in many ways, it’s a story of redemption — of a man who now is trying to regain a small measure of what he squandered. Notably, as the memoir drops, Sizemore says he’s been free of drugs for three years.

Last week it was announced that the actor’s memoir was nominated for ‘Outstanding Literary Work (Inspiration/True Story) at the 2013 EOTM Awards.

Closing, in my opinion, the sex, drugs, & recovery was delivered with fascinating Hollywood stories and insights into the dark world of all things ‘celebrity.’ Tom Sizemore has masterfully done it all. Although depressing at times,  his memoir delivers some good laughs to lighten the mood….a must read…imo.

The book is available now on Amazon and other online platforms.

In moments like this, we should come together as a nation, irrespective of the tribe, religion and social status, critically examine together in oneness the progressive ideologies of a an icon like Professor Achebe and thoroughly inject them into our political, economic, educational and social culture, never to let his effort on Nigeria be in vain.

On behalf of good people of my constituency and Senate Committee on Environment, I send my sincere condolence message to the families of the late professor Achebe and Nigerians.

Scientology leader’s niece tells all in book – ‘Beyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology and…

Published by EOTM News Editor on March 16th, 2013 - in Books, Breaking News, Entertainment News, Religion

AFP – The Church of Scientology has lashed out at a new book by its leader’s niece, which recounts a stolen childhood and how she was brainwashed and cut off from her family before eventually escaping.

Photo credit: Getty - A headquarters for the Church of Scientology in Clearwater, Florida on January 16, 2013. The Church of Scientology has lashed out at a new book by its leader's niece, which recounts a stolen childhood and how she was brainwashed and cut off from her family before eventually escaping.

InBeyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology And My Harrowing Escape,Jenna Miscavige-Hill — whose uncle David Miscavige runs the secretive group — also claims she was forced to work as a child.

But a spokesman for the Church said her claims were “false” and denounced “efforts to exploit Mr Miscavige’s name.”

“The Church has long respected the family unit while accommodating and helping those raising children,” Karin Pouw, spokeswoman for the Church of Scientology International, told AFP.

“The Church does not engage in any activities that mistreat, neglect or force children to engage in manual labor. The Church follows all laws with respect to children,” she said, accusing Miscavige-Hill of “apostate behavior.”

In the book, published in February, the 29-year-old tells of hard labour she and other children were forced to do in the 1990s in the Ranch, in a remote part of the California desert.

The Ranch, near San Jacinto, 90 miles (150 kilometers) southeast of Los Angeles, was “like a military boot camp, with grueling drills, endless musters, exhaustive inspections, and arduous physical labor that no child should have to do.”

The children saw their parents for only a few hours per week. They did not receive any education in the traditional sense, said Miscavige-Hill, who lived there for six years, until she was 12 years old.

Those interned there until 2000 were the children of the Sea Org, the elite of the Church founded by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard. They worked 14 hours a day, seven days a week for a weekly wage of $45.
LifeLock.com

The details fit in with another book which came out in January in the United States, “Going Clear” by journalist Lawrence Wright, which the Church described as “so ludicrous it belongs in a supermarket tabloid.”

Among other back-breaking tasks the Scientologist children had to drag enormous rocks to build a wall, or dig irrigation channels under the blazing desert sun, said Miscavige-Hill.

“The conditions we worked under would have been tough for a grown man, and yet any complaints, backflashing (Scientology term for talking back), any kind of questioning was instantly met with disciplinary action,” she said.

The Church of Scientology’s celebrity members include Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Juliette Lewis and the singer Beck.

But the stars were shielded from the dark side of the shadowy organization. “There was never a risk that they would get exposed to child labor or something similar that the Church didn’t want them to see,” said Miscavige-Hill.

“Celebrities wouldn’t know from talking to them (to Sea Org members) or watching them whether they’d been paid their forty-five dollars that week, or if they missed their families.”

The ex-Scientologist, who like Wright and other ex-Church members including Canadian director and screenwriter Paul Haggis — who published an open letter when he left — also criticizes its reported “disconnection” policy.

The rule, which the Church denies having, allegedly bans all Scientologists from any contact with ex-members who criticize the organization.

Its spokeswoman cast doubt on the claims made in Miscavige-Hill’s book.

“Those who decide a religious order isn’t for them are free to move on with their lives, as Ms. Hill did. Every religion has its detractors; there is no faith that can satisfy everyone’s spiritual needs,” she said.

“Revisionist histories are typical of apostate behavior and tabloid tales should always be taken with an enormous grain of salt.”

Protected in the United States by the US Constitution, which guarantees freedom of religion, the Church of Scientology is considered a sect in other countries.

As I walked back to my table with book in tow, I began speed reading through the pages. Finding myself mesmerized, feeling deep in my heart that Baron’s writings, her words had the effect of bringing on a spiritual awakening, and how if one applied some of the caveats shared, it could quite possibly change lives. I couldn’t wait to get home and get started on my own journey.

“Somewhere in the process of putting this book together, I had a self realization: the lost soul that I desired to save belonged to me. And so, while I penned the simple truth of trials and tribulations, I found God speaking to me. I found myself in the middle of a transformation.”

Teangelo Live on Books features Christian Bale’s biography, “Christian Bale: The Inside Story of the Darkest Batman” by Harrison Cheung, January 10, 2013 at 8pm PST on EOTM Radio (www.Teangelo.com).

Credit: TeangeloLIVE.com

Our host, Teangelo, will be visited by Christian Bale’s real life Alfred, Harrison Chung, who will discuss the critically acclaimed actor, Christian Bale; providing an in-depth look into the anger filled actor and explaining why Christian is such a private person.

Christian Bale, who became an Academy Award-winning actor for his role in The Fighter, is most known for his role as one of Hollywood’s most revered and bankable characters, Batman; has the ability to physically transform himself for roles in films such as American Psycho and The Machinist.  The Dark Knight star infamously accused of assaulting his mother and sister and six months later when a recording of Bale’s rant on the set of Terminator Salvation was leaked, the star’s anger began to define him.

In Christian Bale: The Inside Story of the Darkest Batman, Bale’s former publicist and assistant Harrison Cheung—his real-life Alfred—shares an inside look into the little-known personal life of the intensely private and reclusive actor. In the first biography of the Batman star, Cheung, who lived and worked with Christian and his father for 10 years, shares firsthand accounts of the Bales’ familial dysfunction, Christian’s morbid fascinations and dark humor, and his extreme dedication to his craft.

Aware that Bale hated his traditional publicity duties, Cheung launched an extensive Internet marketing campaign for the actor, built the first official website for the actor and cultivated the Baleheads, an online fan community that was used to garner editorial coverage and ultimately help Bale secure the role of the Caped Crusader.  This book uncovers Bale’s transformation from shy, English child actor to Internet sensation to Hollywood bad boy.

Martha Stewart’s daughter Alexis writes Tell-All book and rips her Mommy Dearest

Published by EOTM News Editor on October 2nd, 2011 - in Books, Breaking News, Celebrity News, Entertainment News

Martha Stewart’s daughter Alexis has ripped the apparent, Mommy Dearest in her new book, Whateverland: Learning to Live Here, co-authored with Jennifer Koppelman Hutt.

Martha Stewart and daughter Alexis Stewart

“Martha does everything better! You can’t win,” Alexis Stewart writes of her 70-year-old mom, according to an excerpt obtained by the Daily Mail.“If I didn’t do something perfectly, I had to do it again. … I grew up with a glue gun pointed at my head.  She used to make me wrap my own presents. She would hand me things right before Christmas and say, ‘Now wrap these but don’t look inside.’ ”

Despite some really crappy childhood memories, Alexis dedicated the book to her mother.

And what does Martha have to say behind these revelations?

“She’s her own person,” Martha writes in the book of her daughter. “She makes up her own mind. I sometimes try to offer advice, but if it’s not taken, so be it. She really did pay attention. She really does know how to do everything. And still she chooses not to follow in my footsteps.”
