Jada Pinkett Smith took to her Facebook page to set the record straight on her alleged “open marriage” with husband Will Smith. The post stemmed from a statement she made in an interview with the Huffington Post a couple weeks ago:

Open Marriage?
Let me first say this, there are far more important things to talk about in regards to what is happening in the world than whether I have an open marriage or not. I am addressing this issue because a very important subject has been born from discussions about my statement that may be worthy of addressing.
The statement I made in regard to, “Will can do whatever he wants,” has illuminated the need to discuss the relationship between trust and love and how they co-exist.
Do we believe loving someone means owning them? Do we believe that ownership is the reason someone should “behave”? Do we believe that all the expectations, conditions, and underlying threats of “you better act right or else” keep one honest and true? Do we believe that we can have meaningful relationships with people who have not defined nor live by the integrity of his or her higher self? What of unconditional love? Or does love look like, feel like, and operate as enslavement? Do we believe that the more control we put on someone the safer we are? What of TRUST and LOVE?
Should we be married to individuals who can not be responsible for themselves and their families within their freedom? Should we be in relationships with individuals who we can not entrust to their own values, integrity, and LOVE…for us???
Here is how I will change my statement…Will and I BOTH can do WHATEVER we want, because we TRUST each other to do so. This does NOT mean we have an open relationship…this means we have a GROWN one.
Case closed.

Willow Smith, the 11-year-old daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith has been known to shock the world in the past with her eccentric hair styles, twitter posts and wardrobe. Well it appears the mini Jada has outdone herself this time.
The tween’s latest stunt has rubbed many the wrong way with her recent post on Instagram, whereas she’s posing in a picture with a friend showing off what appears to be real piercings. Willow poses with her mouth open and a silver ball on her tongue, while her friend sports a silver chin stud.

As soon as the photo was live on Instagram, Twitter tweeters were on a roll, “That awkward moment when you find out Willow Smith has a tongue piercing. She’s 11,” one person tweeted.
“Willow Smith is like 11? W/ a tongue ring? If my 11 year old daughter got a tongue ring I would pull her whole tongue out like Mortal Kombat”, another person tweeted.
Let’s not forget the presumed lack of parental guidance in this situation. Another person chimed in on Twitter to point a finger at Will and Jada, tweeting: “Willow Smith is 11 and has a tongue ring. WHERE ARE HER PARENTS?”
Willow was determined to have a little fun at her fans expense, just as her post was trending the young Smith admitted the piercing was a fake: “It’s fake… Sorry,” she added to the Instagram photo.
I don’t know…I think Willow’s instagram, twitter and facebook should be monitored.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The suits have knocked off the superheroes at the box office.
Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones’ sequel “Men in Black 3″ debuted as the No. 1 movie over Memorial Day weekend with $55 million domestically from Friday to Sunday.

That bumps Disney’s “The Avengers” into second-place after three blockbuster weekends on top for the superhero sensation. “The Avengers” took in $37 million over the three days to push its domestic total to $514 million and become only the fourth movie ever to top half a billion dollars.
Distributor Sony estimates that by the end of the four-day holiday weekend Monday, “Men in Black 3″ will have pulled in $70 million domestically and $202 million worldwide.
Universal’s “Battleship” was No. 3 in its second weekend with $10.8 million, raising its domestic earnings to $44.3 million. Paramount’s comedy “The Dictator” took in $9.6 million to finish fourth in its second weekend and lift its total to $41.5 million.
The Warner Bros. horror tale “Chernobyl Diaries” opened at No. 5 with $8 million.
“Men in Black 3″ launched with a bit more cash than its two predecessors, which both had opening weekends of just above $50 million.
But the original “Men in Black” debuted in 1997 and “Men in Black II” premiered in 2002, when admission prices were much lower than today’s. That means “Men in Black 3″ sold fewer tickets than the previous installments.
“Men in Black 3″ reunites Smith’s Agent J and Jones’ Agent K as they battle a new alien menace that travels four decades back in time to do away with the younger Agent K (Josh Brolin).
Among the movie’s box-office highlights overseas were debuts of $19.5 million in China, $18.9 million in Russia, $8.5 million in South Korea and $8 million in Japan.
Distributor Disney estimates that “The Avengers” will take in $47.1 million for the four-day holiday weekend, lifting the film’s domestic total to $523.8 million. That will put “The Avengers” within $10 million of “The Dark Knight,” the No. 3 movie on the all-time revenue chart with $533.3 million domestically.
“The Avengers” will pass “The Dark Knight” in the coming week, leaving only two movies above it: “Avatar” at $760.5 million and “Titanic” at $658.5 million.
With $26.3 million overseas, “The Avengers” raised its international total to $781.6 million, and its worldwide revenues to just under $1.3 billion. “The Avengers” will soon overtake “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ at $1.33 billion to become the No. 3 film on the global revenue list, again behind “Avatar” at $2.8 billion and “Titanic” at $2.2 billion.
Overall domestic receipts for the four-day Memorial Day weekend will come in well behind last year’s record of $276 million. Paul Dergarabedian, an analyst for box-office tracker Hollywood.com, estimated that four-day revenues this time will total $195 million to $200 million, about 30 percent below Memorial Day weekend a year ago, when “The Hangover Part II” delivered a $100 million-plus debut.
Hollywood remains on a record pace this year, with domestic revenue so far at $4.24 billion, up 12.5 percent over 2011 receipts, according to Hollywood.com.
But “The Avengers” and now “Men in Black 3″ have been the only notable successes for the summer season so far, with big releases such as “Dark Shadows” and “Battleship” fizzling on the domestic front.
“We really need to get going if we don’t want to have play catch-up every weekend through the summer,” Dergarabedian said. “Some of these summer movies are just not doing the business people had hoped for in North America.”

Will Smith slapped reporter Vitalii Sediuk Friday, after he planted a surprise kiss near the actor’s lips at the “Men in Black 3″ premier in Moscow, TMZ.com reported.
“Come on man. What the hell is your problem buddy?” Smith yelped!
After a forceful shove, the “Fresh Prince” gave the Ukrainian television reporter a left hand to the jaw, chided with him a bit before finishing up the interview.
“Sorry. He kissed me on my mouth,” Smith said as he continued down the red carpet with cameras rolling.
“The joker is lucky I didn’t sucker punch him,” he went on.
“I’m so sorry,” one of his shocked female handlers said.
“No, no. It’s all good,” Smith said with a laugh as he moved on to the next interview.

Will and Jada Smith’s rumored divorce this past summer was reportedly over disagreements about their children’s careers, not an affair. According to TMZ.com the power couple could not agree on how to manage Jaden and Willow’s burgeoning careers.

Sources close to the couple tell TMZ they are doing “wonderful” now — but earlier this year, sources tell TMZ there was tension between the two over how best to manage the careers of Jaden and Willow.
We’re told each had their own ideas for how things should be handled — with Will pushing more for full-blown stardom and Jada leaning towards easing them in to things.
Since this summer, tension between them has cooled considerably, inside sources say. The couple is now happy once again.

Today, September 25th, 2011, the super dad turns 43 years old today.
Will is such a fun and hip dad, which is easy to tell by looking at his laid-back style. He always looks great on the red carpet, and he also looks genuinely happy in photos, which is not something that can be said about all celeb dads.

The supermarket tabloids — they of the relentless Kardashian speculation and notorious overuse of exclamation points — aren’t exactly renowned as papers of record. Yet when no less an authority as In Touch decreed Tuesday morning that Hollywood golden couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith were splitting up, that was good enough for media outlets who should have known better. Here’s the exact quote: “After 13 years of marriage, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have decided to separate, an insider tells In Touch Weekly exclusively.” Well, if an In Touch “insider” says so!
Sure enough, within minutes, the story gained better Internet traction than a Scott Baio death rumor — greased by the Twitterverse but aided exponentially by considerably more mainstream sources. Yahoo’s OMG gossip site promptly asked “Have Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Smith Split?” as did Chicago’s Fox affiliate. The Daily News in New York also got around the sketchy sourcing by posing the story as a question in a piece on “Celebrity Ex Files.” MSNBC also posted on the “report” of the split, and Jezebel went so far as to turn the report into a witty piece on “The Curse Of Bragging About Your Sex Life.”
By the end of the day, the whole thing had gone kablooey, with the couple issuing a joint statement that “Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact.” Cue a barrage of hasty retractions and updates — the Huffington Post, in what might be a record number for a nonexistent story, racked up an impressive four of them.
You expect blatant rumor and innuendo from the tabloids. Earlier this month, In Touch ran a “Nanny tells all!” cover on “ice queen mom” Angelina Jolie — that turned out to be about Jolie’s own childhood caretaker. The Star recently announced that Kate Middleton was “95 pounds and having a baby!” According to the current Life & Style, “It’s twins!” for Jennifer Aniston, who, according to In Touch, is “Hooked on Mr. Wrong.”
So it isn’t surprising that a celebrity couple would be dogged by magazine rumors of marital instability. And in a summer that’s already seen the split of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony — who conveniently costars with Pinkett Smith on “Hawthorne” — you can’t expect the tabloids not to go for the obvious. The prospect of a big breakup for a duo who have been so famously — nay, nauseatingly — lovey-dovey for so long would be a juicy scoop. Isn’t Smith the guy who in 2008 told Ellen DeGeneres, “Divorce is not an option”?
