Nicki Minaj Leaving American Idol – Yes…Goodbye

So it appears it’s bye bye for Hip hop star Nicki Minaj, she is reportedly set to exit American Idol after the current season. Tonight the talent competition will air its grand finale.

According to Us Weekly , their insider is saying, “It’s safe to say she isn’t coming back to ‘Idol.’ She’s okay with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway.”

Fox declined to comment on the report and no confirmation via Nicki’s Twitter account.

The 30-year-old rapper has been in an ongoing feud with fellow first-time judge Mariah Carey since the season started.

The internet has been abuzz with rumors that the show will be restructured next season with an entirely new panel of judges and a new producer.

The last remaining original “American Idol” judge, Randy Jackson is leaving the hit reality show. Jackson will not be returning to the music talent competition next season.

Jackson said in a statement that he’s leaving “Idol” to focus on his record label and other business opportunities.

“To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on `American Idol,’ I have decided to leave after this season,” he said. “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry.”

Jackson first appeared on the panel alongside Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul when the competition debuted in 2002.

Report: Keith Urban Finalizing Deal To Join ‘American Idol’

Australian country music singer Keith Urban is taped to join American Idol’s upcoming season. The singer will replace Randy Jackson, who left the show on Friday after 11 years, according to TMZ.

The singer will join Mariah Carey, who just recently signed an $18 million deal to join the show last month and Nicki Minaj is also set to give the judges panel a swirl; according to  TMZ, Minaj’s deal is 99% done and will reportedly make $6-8million.

Urban’s deal is estimated to be in the $3-4 million range.

Urban and Minaj’s signings would leave the show with just one vacancy; and word is Nick Jonas has been approached by producers and is in talks to fill the fourth spot on the judging panel.
