This new tour, “Explore South Africa, Conscious Music Movement tour“ (ESAT) is an initiative driven by AZitiZ aka Lalita Garret from the USA and Mduduzi Mvemve ”DjDuce” from RSA.
ESAT also aims to assist conscious hip hop artists, fans and brands to enter into the South African market with the hopes networking, sharing their love for the genre as well as learning the in and outs of the music business via our Global Hip Hop Industry Panel of Experts.
The ESAT is a positive life style session that utilizes popular culture, educating artist on all aspects of the music business as well as utilizing music and spoken word for info-taining and entertaining the audience. Applying technology as a tool to bridge both personal and intellectual spaces.
The Explore South Africa Tour also focuses on building bridges and connecting with the youth of South Africa in a way that will impact the region and leave it with a better sense of hope.
Despite it being 2011 there are parts of the world where people still live without basic rights that many in the United States take for granted. In South Africa Journalists are banned from saying or writing what they want, therefore hip hop artists globally are stepping up to speak for those who can’t.
The Explore South Africa Tour is described as being, “the voice of the voiceless.” Hip hop fans in the US will unite with SA artists for a powerful cause…with the hopes of changing lives and hip hop globally.
The ESAT is a mass conscious music movement helping to not necessarily push out other forms of hip hop, but to allow conscious music artists their fare share in the mainstream marketplace.
Have we gotten you interested yet? We hope so!
With all this in mind, write a blog or artistic piece on why conscious music is important, specifically in hip hop; and how it makes you feel to be part of a movement that is being called, “the voice of the voiceless.” How do you plan to contribute to this movement and how will your participation positively impact hip hop fans if you are the winner?
