Kevin Hart + SNL = Really Funny ‘Bleep’

Comedian Kevin Hart did his best to boost Saturday Night Live’s dwindling ratings.

There was plenty of good material and memorable performances however, some bloggers, writers and tweeters seemed a little disappointed. The funniest sketch of the night in my opinion was when Hart played the race card in a spoof of The Walking Dead…very funny sh*t.

CNN is reportedly trying to acquire NBC’s Ann Curry to feature in its top news hour. Forbes.com has reported that Jeff Zucker, once the Today Show’s executive producer and former head of NBC/Universal, is trying to replace Anderson Cooper with Curry in its coveted 8 p.m. time slot.

As reported by Daily Mail, Zucker is taking over as president for CNN.

In the midst of all this, Curry has allegedly begged NBC to set her free. If her wish is granted she will occupy Cooper’s prime-time slot; rumor has it the network is on a ratings decline.

‘Ann wants out of her contract, big time,’ a source close to the situation told RadarOnline. ‘She has formally asked her attorney to explore exit options from the network.’

“Ann’s lawyer feels that there is a very strong case to be made that NBC has breached terms of the deal because Curry was demoted from TODAY. Furthermore, Ann has basically been sequestered from appearing on the network. Yes, she has been doing some work that has been assigned to her, but it hasn’t been steady,” the insider added.

If NBC does not let her out of her contract and she still decides to bail, it could become very bad for Curry professionally. She could be barred from being hired in any journalist position for two years.

What are your thoughts? Should Ann Curry beg NBC or ride things out?

‘The Voice’ Jordan Pruitt Sings ‘The One That Got Away

Review by Tanya Blake

Former Disney star Jordan Pruitt is making a little noise on The Voice. The reality TV contestant sang Katy Perry’s, “The One That Go Away,” and blew everyone out of the water…literally.

Pruitt recently left  the Disney record label that signed her when she was 14 so she could perform more mature songs.

The 21-year-old who named Christina Aguilera as a major influence most definitely stated her case, catching the attention of all the judges as she took  Perry‘s hit to a different level. “I have been waiting for you Jordan,” Aguilera said. “I liked your performance so much, you were really energetic. I really loved your falsetto parts … they were really crisp.”  Christina also went on to tell Jordan that she was looking for a “power house” on her team…well it appears she found it.

What were your thoughts of Pruitt’s performance? Leave your comments below.

Michael J. Fox to star in TV comedy as dad with Parkinson’s

(Reuters) – Actor Michael J. Fox, who stepped back from full-time acting in 2000 to focus on fighting Parkinson’s disease, will star in a new TV comedy loosely based on his own life suffering from the illness.

NBC television said on Monday it had ordered a full 22 episodes of an untitled comedy series starring the “Spin City” and “Back to the Future” actor for the fall of 2013.

The show will feature Fox as a husband and father of three from New York City dealing with family, career, and challenges including the degenerative nervous system disorder, Parkinson’s disease.

“He (Fox) is utterly relatable, optimistic, and in a class by himself, and I have no doubt that the character he will create – and the vivid family characters surrounding him – will be both instantly recognizable and hilarious,” NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement.

Fox, 51, made his name in the 1980s TV comedy “Family Ties” and as teen adventurer Marty McFly in the “Back to the Future” movie franchise.

He later starred in TV political comedy “Spin City,” winning multiple acting awards, but semi-retired from acting in 2000 as his symptoms of Parkinson’s worsened and he focused his efforts on research for a cure.

In recent years, the Canadian actor has done voice-over work for movies like “Stuart Little” and has guest starred in TV shows like the comedy “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and legal drama “The Good Wife.”

Filming for the new sitcom will begin this year, with casting for other roles to be announced later, NBC said.

Ann Curry leaving ‘Today’ for $10 million ?

Ann Curry is reportedly getting at least $10 million to leave “Today,” the nation’s No. 1 morning show — an from the looks of it she’s ‘Okay to Go.’

Don’t fret just yet, Curry is still the co-host, but speculation continues to mount over who will be sitting in her anchor seat in the not too distant future.

Curry has said nothing about the gossip and NBC has not made any official comments. A call to Curry’s representative, Washington lawyer Robert Barnett, was not returned.

Earlier this year, “Today” show executive producer Jim Bell offered Curry a tepid endorsement, telling Show Tracker the network had “no plans” to replace her.

So why all the humbug?

The short answer: Ratings. “Today” was the undisputed leader in the morning-show wars since the mid-1990s. But since Curry, the former news reader, took over for Meredith Vieira a year ago, the program has been struggling to maintain a lead over its rival, ABC’s”Good Morning America.”

“Good Morning America” has pulled out weekly ratings wins over the last year.

News that Curry was being replaced broke Wednesday. A New York Times report surfaced that secret meetings had been taking place between NBC and her lawyer to push her into a different role.

Regardless of what position she ends up with, she will end up with a nice financial cushion to ease the fall. NBC signed her to  a three year deal, worth  $10 million annually when she took the co-anchor post in 2011, TMZ reported.
