It was an exciting and over the top ringside match broadcasted live on HBO pay-per-view which had over one million viewers. Defeated presidential candidate Mitt Romney was a ringside guest. The savvy business man also visited with Manny Pacquiao in his dressing room before the fight, wishing him well…..stating:

“Hello Manny. I ran for president. I lost,” Romney told the fighter, according to Pacquiao publicist Fred Sternburg.

Considering the ending…that was not the kind of inspiring stuff Pacquiao needed to hear…right?

Juan Manuel Marquez won in a stunning performance, KO’ing Pacquiao in the 6th round. Marquez surprised Pacquiao and landed a devastating right hand over the top that he didn’t see. The punch landed on Pacquiao’s chin and drove him face forward into the canvas.
Detroit Athletic
For Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KOs) it was sweet vindication in a four-match series that had always seen him come up just short.

“We always work on that punch,” Marquez said. “The change in rhythm was important. We knew he was going to come out aggressive. We had to work on more technique and we were able to capitalize on that. We knew it would be a very difficult fight, but not an impossible fight.

“I felt Manny was coming after me for a knockout in the last few rounds. I felt he could knock me down at any time. As soon as I saw my first opening I landed a hard right hand. After I knocked him down the first time I thought I could knock him out.’’

The first fight between these guys ended in a draw. The second was a split-decision victory for Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KOs) and the third was a majority decision for Pacquiao. The fourth was a definitive, concussive exclamation point to the series for Marquez.

“Why not?’’ Pacquiao said of a possible fifth fight.

On the knockout, he added, “I just got hit by a punch I didn’t see.’’

Cheap calls to GhanaMarquez sent the first shock wave through the crowd late in the third round when he landed a looping right hand that came over Pacquiao’s glove and landed on his chin, knocking Pacquiao flat on his back. It was the first time that Pacquiao had been down in the 39 rounds that the two had fought. Pacquiao made it to his feet by the count of four and seemed angry that he had tasted the canvas. When the round ended, he gave Marquez a long stare as he slowly walked back to his corner.

Pacquiao exacted his revenge in the fifth round when he caught Marquez with a straight left that knocked Marquez off balance enough for his left glove to touch the canvas. It was scored a knockdown. Then the two boxers engaged in a fierce battle, with Pacquiao getting the better of Marquez in the exchanges. Marquez finished the round with a bloody nose.

50 Cent, a newly licensed boxing promoter, added his flair before his boxer, Yuriorkis Gamboa entered to fight Farenas in the co-feature. The rapper descended from the circular light standard above the ring on two wires — Peter Pan style — doing his new rap song “My Life’’ for Gamboa’s ring entrance.

“Get used to it,’’ he said to the crowd.

Fifty’s fighter fared better than Snooki’s guy as Gamboa (22-0, 16 KOs) scored a 12-round unanimous decision over Michael Farenas (34-4-4, 26 KOs) to win the WBA super featherweight title, while Javier Fortuna (21-0, 15 KOs) scored a lopsided 12-round decision over Patrick Hyland (27-1, 12 KOs), who is co-promoted by Snooki, to take the WBA interim featherweight title.

The Presidential election is only weeks away…and it’s getting ugly out there… I mean…really ugly

By Carla B.

And before you think I’m just talking about the political process, the political parties, or the respective candidates, I was actually talking about you…me…us….and them…the people. And by people, I’m especially talking about black folks and how they engage in hatred…(I know that’s a hard word…but it’s the truth) towards the few blacks and other minorities that have not decided who they are voting for and/or the ones that have came out to say…they are NOT voting for Obama…or just plain not voting at all.

The choice between soup and salad is a fairly benign one, but it demonstrates a characteristic of human nature: we don’t like to be forced into decisions we’re capable of making for ourselves. We resist compulsion. Even when we face more serious decisions, ones with moral implications, it is important that we choose for ourselves.

Insignificant Ann Coulter calls Obama a ‘Retard’ via Twitter

On Monday night an insignificant…. Ann Coulter called President Obama a “retard.”

She made the remark on Twitter after the third and final presidential debate between Obama and Mitt Romney. “I highly approve of Romney’s decision to be kind and gentle to the retard,” she tweeted.

The conservative commentator was met with some backlash from people on Twitter, who called it “offensive and disrespectful” and asked her, “Are you out of your f-cking mind?”

Mitt Romney, Barack Obama clash over real war in Afghanistan, trade war in China

By Tanya Blake – Follow EOTM! Online (Politics) on Facebook

Source (Newsday) President Barack Obama and rival Mitt Romney sparred over foreign policy last night in their third and final debate, touching on the turmoil in the Middle East, Iran’s nuclear threat, support for Israel, and, ultimately, on which man presents himself as the strongest leader.

At the campus of Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., Obama and Romney found common ground on some issues, but battled over how best to focus American military efforts and contain threats.

Obama repeatedly emphasized his record over the last four years, reminding voters that he withdrew American troops from Iraq, began a wind down in Afghanistan and ordered the special-forces operation that killed Osama bin Laden. He said Romney “seems to want the foreign policies from the 1980s, the social policies from the 1950s and economic policies from the 1920s.”

“America is stronger now than when I came into office,” said the Democrat, who was the aggressor during most exchanges.

Romney accused his rival of carrying out an “apology tour” around the globe and insufficiently funding the military.

“We’re four years closer to a nuclear Iran,” Romney said. “I see the Middle East with a rising tide of chaos, violence, tumult. . . . I look around the world and I don’t see our influence growing. I see our influence receding.”

On Iran, Obama said: “As long as I am president . . . Iran will not get a nuclear weapon,” adding that he has helped cripple Iran’s economy through sanctions.

While more reserved than the previous two debates, Romney frequently tried to turn foreign-affairs questions into domestic ones — saying that the faltering economy undermines the U.S. internationally.

Romney said he wanted a “peaceful world . . . and that begins with a strong economy here at home, and, unfortunately, the economy is not strong.”

Obama tried to emphasize his foreign-affairs experience and Romney’s lack thereof. He said the Republican has “been all over the map” when it comes to foreign policy.

“I know you haven’t been in a position to execute foreign policy,” Obama said at one point. “And every time you’ve had a chance to offer an opinion, you’ve been wrong.”

“Attacking me is not an agenda,” Romney fired back.

The former Massachusetts governor accused Obama of not providing enough leadership to help overthrow the Assad regime in Syria, failing to anticipate the violence in Libya that led to the killing of the American ambassador, and not showing enough “backbone” with Russia.

Romney also said Obama hasn’t sufficiently funded the military to provide long-term security. “I will not cut a military budget,” Romney said.

The candidates went to lengths to stress their support for Israel, each trying to imply he would be a stronger ally. For example, when asked about the Muslim Brotherhood winning the elections in Egypt, Obama used the question to show solidarity with Israel, saying: “They have to abide by their treaty with Israel. That is a red line for us, because not only is Israel’s security at stake, but our security is at stake if that unravels.”

Romney also stressed the relationship. “I want to underscore the — the same point the president made, which is that if I’m president of the United States, when I’m president of the United States, we will stand with Israel,” the Republican said. “And — and if Israel is attacked, we have their back, not just diplomatically, not just culturally, but militarily.”

The 90-minute format was broken down into six, 15-minute segments, moderated by longtime CBS newsman Bob Schieffer. Questions centered on America’s role in the world, Afghanistan and Pakistan, Israel and Iran, the changing Middle East, the rise of China, and tomorrow’s world.

Free Us weekly issuesGoing into the final debate, polls showed voters slightly favor Obama over Romney when asked about foreign affairs. And it came as no surprise that Romney used his closing statement to go back to the economy. He also emphasized that in Massachusetts he worked with a state Legislature that was “87 percent” Democrat.

“I learned how to get along on the other side of the aisle,” Romney said. “We’ve got to do that in Washington. Washington is broken. I know what it takes to get this country back.”

Obama, as he has done through much of the campaign, tried to tie Romney to former President George W. Bush.

“You know, over the last four years, we’ve made real progress digging our way out of policies that gave us two prolonged wars, record deficits and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression,” Obama said. “And Governor Romney wants to take us back to those policies . . . “

Does Obamacare Cure Romnesia?

President Obama introduced a new word to the world on Friday at a rally in Fairfax, Virginia whereas he accused his opponent, Mitt Romney, of “Romnesia” for his ever changing positions .

Before nearly 10,000 supporters, Obama smiled, joked and wagged his finger as he mocked Romney’s earlier declaration that he was a “severely conservative” governor of Massachusetts.

Now that we’re 18 days out from the election, ‘Mr. Severely Conservative’ wants you to think he was severely kidding about everything he said over the last year,’’ Obama said in a speech devoted almost entirely to attacking Romney, and during which he gave little indication of what he would do in a second term if reelected.

Building in intensity, Obama continued: “He’s forgetting what his own positions are, and he’s betting that you will, too. I mean, he’s changing up so much and backtracking and sidestepping. We’ve got to — we’ve got to — we’ve got to name this condition that he’s going through. I think — I think it’s called ‘Romnesia.’ ”

The crowd roared.

Second presidential debate: Fact checks of key points

The Romney campaign was not amused. “America doesn’t need a comedy routine; it needs a serious plan to fix the economy,’’ Romney senior adviser Danny Diaz wrote on Twitter.

Added Amanda Henneberg, a Romney spokeswoman: “Women haven’t forgotten how we’ve suffered over the last four years in the Obama economy with higher taxes, higher unemployment, and record levels of poverty. President Obama has failed to put forward a second-term agenda — and when you don’t have a plan to run on, you stoop to scare tactics.’’

The renewed skirmishing came as the other candidates converged on the key swing state of Florida ahead of Monday’s final presidential debate in Boca Raton, which is shaping up as critical in a race that polls show is tight nationally and in battleground states.

Vice President Biden and Romney’s running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), spent their Friday rallying supporters in the Sunshine State, whose 29 electoral votes make it the biggest swing state prize. At one point, Ryan’s campaign jet rolled across the tarmac in Tampa past Biden’s Air Force Two.

Ann Romney and Michelle Obama, both important surrogates as the campaigns battle for an edge among women voters, have events scheduled for South Florida in the coming days. Female voters are a critical bloc that could determine who is elected on Nov. 6, and recent polls have shown Romney cutting into Obama’s lead among them.

All Music. No Ads. Get Rdio Free.

With the economy still the key issue in the race, Obama got some potentially good news on Friday: New data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that the unemployment rate dropped in 41 states last month, including many of the top swing states. Those included Florida, Colorado and Iowa. Yet Florida’s rate, at 8.7 percent, remains higher than the national average, and unemployment is still high across the country.

Romney prepared for the debate Friday morning in New York before flying to Florida. where he appeared with Ryan at a rally in Daytona Beach in the evening.

They spoke to a crowd of thousands of supporters who were warmed up to the singing of country music star John Rich of the group Big and Rich.

To bring you to the elegant and noble

Romney said that Obama’s reelection effort has become the “incredibly shrinking campaign.”

Top 3 Presidential Debate Unlikely Questions From EOTM!

“Have you been watching the Obama campaign lately. It’s absolutely remarkable,” Romney said. “They have no agenda.”But speaking to the tightness of this race, even as Ryan and Romney spoke, a crowd of Obama supporters gathered and shouted “Obama. Four More Years,” drowning out parts of Romney’s 20-minute speech.Romney’s debate partner, Sen. Rob Portman, as well as top advisers Stuart Stevens, Beth Myers and Dan Senor joined him on the flight to Florida. It was Romney’s commanding performance in the first presidential debate two weeks ago — along with Obama’s widely panned showing — that reconfigured a race in which the president had been ahead.Romney on Friday released a new television ad titled “Bringing People Together.” It emphasized his bipartisan credentials, though some Democrats in Massachusetts say Romney worked only sporadically with them during his governorship. But the Romney campaign also apparently senses vulnerability on the subject for Obama, whose political brand in his 2008 campaign was built around his ability to transcend partisan divides.Memory Lane, IncYet it was a highly partisan president who spoke on Friday in an open field at George Mason University in the critical battleground state of Virginia. Obama drew chants of “Four more years!” as he bounded onto a podium draped with two blue signs reading “Women’s Health Security.’’Obama portrayed Romney as a “throwback to the 1950s” who would restrict women’s rights, favor the wealthy and squeeze the middle class.During his riff on what he called “Romnesia,’’ Obama said: “I’m not a medical doctor, but I — but I do want to go over some of the symptoms with you because I want to make sure nobody else catches it.’’The crowd hooted.Obama then listed a series of what he called position changes by Romney, focusing on women’s issues. “You know, if you say you’re for equal pay for equal work, but you keep refusing to say whether or not you’d sign a bill that protects equal pay for equal work, you might have ‘Romnesia,’ ’’ Obama said. “If you say women should have access to contraceptive care, but you support legislation that would let your employer deny you contraceptive care, you might have a case of ‘Romnesia.’ ”The president drew his loudest applause by bringing up the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. Chuckling, he said: “If you come down with a case of ‘Romnesia’ and you can’t seem to remember the policies that are still on your Web site, or the promises that you’ve made over the six years you’ve been running for president, here’s the good news: Obamacare covers preexisting conditions.’’“We can fix you up. We’ve got a cure. We can make you well, Virginia. This is a curable disease.’’
