In one of the biggest lawsuits of the year a California prisoner is suing some of hip hop’s biggest names for more than $2 billion. Apparently, with nothing better to do, the inmate named Richard Dupree claims Beyoncé , Shawn Carter, Kanye West, Robin Fenty, Rihanna and Chris Brown stole song lyrics he had been writing while incarcerated. Dupre also claims the performers worked in-conjunction with the CIA, FBI, Homeland Security, among other agencies, to spy on him and obtain his lyrics. Sounds plausible. (shrugs) Dupree believes Brown, West and Rihanna were co-conspirators in the crime stealing over 3,000 of his songs.
The suit was filed on the 21st of April and was first reported by Re-Tox.
Information on the lawsuit can be found here.
This is going to be interesting seeing how this pans out, my money’s on the prisoner.
