Steve Nash will be joining Kobe Bryant, Paul Gasol and the LA Lakers back court in a sign and trade between the Lakers and the Sun, bringing the 2 time MVP to Los Angeles for 3 years. According to ESPN, Nash will receive upwards of $25 million.

Nash, 38 years old, spent the past eight seasons with the Suns. The star athlete was a free agent, however, a sign-and-trade agreement was necessary for the Lakers to afford him.

The Suns will receive 2013 and 2015 first-round picks and 2013 and 2014 second-round picks from the Lakers, according to the Arizona Republic.

Duffy said the deal was finalized about 6 p.m., PDT. He said a main reason for Nash choosing the Lakers was to remain close to his children. “We’ve agreed that it’s time for both of us to move in new directions. I approached them and asked if they would be willing to do a sign and trade deal with L.A. because it is very important to me to stay near my children and family,” Nash said to ESPN.

There had been sign-and-trade talks with New York and a lucrative free agent offer from Toronto. Nash won the MVP Award in 2004-05 and 2005-06 with the Suns. He will become the third player in NBA history to play for at least three different franchises during his career and win multiple MVP Awards (12 players have won multiple NBA MVP Awards all-time).

Nine years after leaving the Los Angeles Clippers, Lamar Odom  is back — and will get a second chance to revitalize his career where he started.

On April 9 the Mavericks said Odom would be inactive for the rest of the season, when the then-defending NBA champions still had nine regular season games left and were making their push toward the playoffs. That move came two days after a heated halftime exchange during a game between Odom and Dallas owner Mark Cuban, who questioned the player’s commitment to the team.

Odom’s averages of 6.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 20.5 minutes in Dallas were career lows. The 32-year-old Odom has averaged 14.2 points and 8.6 rebounds in 879 career games.
