The mother of Grammy-winning singer Bruno Mars, 27, has died in Honolulu, Hawaii at Queens Medical Center, according to the Associated Press.
Bernadette Hernandez, 55, died Saturday of a brain aneurysm, according to a publicist for Mars’ label, there was no other information given.
Bernadette, a hula dancer and a singer immigrated from the Philippines and nurtured her son’s interest in music at an early age.
Mars — born Peter Gene Hernandez in Hawaii was just 4 when he began performing in his family’s show as an Elvis impersonator.
