(Glendale, CA -March 1, 2013)- Ignite Dance Workshops will present “Move it or Lose it”, an unforgettable evening of dance elite and young dance enthusiasts, as they come together to celebrate in performance at the legendary Alex Theatre, located at 216 North Brand Blvd., Glendale, CA 91203 on Saturday, April 26, 2013. The red carpet arrivals and will begin at 6:30 PM and the show will promptly begin at 7:30 PM.
“Move it or Lose it” is a TV Game Show spoof developed on the innovations of two elder dance masters: Rudolf Laban (utilizing his codification of the “7 Elements of Movement”), and Merce Cunningham (recreating his choreographic use of randomness), where contestants are student dancers of Ignite’s free dance education programs for the Glendale Unified School District in collaboration with dance professionals. This is a phenomenal platform for the community youth and industry professionals to create magic on stage together.
“Move it or Lose it” will comprise of riveting performances by dance superstars Joelle Martinec & Sole Vita, Benjamin Allen, Erica Barin, Scott Hislop, conservatory youth of Ignite Dance Workshops, and school district youth. The show is directed by Ignite’s Founding Director, Choreographer/Actress, Laura Fremont.
Ignite Dance Workshops is partnered with Glendale and Los Angeles Unified School District providing arts education to undeserved youth of the communities with innovative programs, impacting lives through dance education.
