Skier Lindsey Vonn was airlifted off a mountain in Austria after crashing during the women’s Super-G on the opening day of the alpine skiing world championships.
Vonn lost balance on her right leg while landing after a jump. Her ski came off and she slid off course hitting a gate before coming to a standstill.
The four-time overall World Cup champion was treated on the slope for 12 minutes before being airlifted, according to the Associated Press.
According to CNN Vonn has suffered a “complex knee injury.”
