Michael Clarke Duncan has died, his fiancee Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth told the Associated Press. He was 54. His publicist released a statement saying the actor died Monday morning in a Los Angeles hospital after nearly two months of treatment in response to a heart attack July 13. “Duncan suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered,” the rep said.
“Omarosa Manigault is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time,” Duncan’s rep said, adding that public and private memorials would be announced soon.
Actor Tom Hanks, Duncans co-star in ‘Green Mile’ was one of the many stars who rushed to pay tribute to the actor saying, ‘I am terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike. He was the treasure we all discovered on the set of ‘The Green Mile’. He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned.’
Duncan received an Oscar nomination for his performance in Green Mile. He has also appeared in “Armageddon,” “The Scorpion King,” and “Sin City,” to name a few.
