4-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt makes her film debut alongside her famous mother, Angelina Jolie

The Walt Disney Studios confirmed Wednesday that Vivienne Jolie-Pitt , Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s daughter, will play the child version of Princess Aurora opposite her mother in “Maleficent.” The four-year-old will have a small role in the project which is a re-telling of the tale of Sleeping Beauty from the point of view of her horned, evil nemesis.

Production on the film began in London in June. “Maleficent,” which also stars Sharlto Copley, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson and Lesley Manville, is scheduled to hit theaters in March 2014.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly back in March, Jolie said she was particularly excited for her daughters (Zahara, Shiloh, and Viv) to see Maleficent.

“It’s not anti-princess, but it’s the first time they’re looking at this epic woman [in a different way],” said Jolie, 37. “I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn’t mean she can’t have other qualities. You have to figure out the puzzle of what she is.”

“Ange thought it would be a fun experience for her and Viv to share, and Viv is a natural,” a source told the U.K.’s Sun. “The other kids are now nagging Ange and Brad to land them roles.”

This won’t actually be the first time one of Brad and Angie’s children has appeared in a major motion picture. Shiloh, 6, had a brief cameo in Pitt’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button when she was just a toddler.
