Clint Eastwood – the ‘Empty Chair’ gives them something to talk about

Clint Eastwood made his debut at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night in Tampa and at times it felt as if he was doing improv. Eastwood’s  script seemed wildly unscripted with one CNN analysts saying the ‘teleprompter’ was in fact blank. So the RNC gave good ole Dirty Harry free reign…nice!

Chrysler Super Bowl commercial: Is Clint Eastwood a..

Eastwood addressed an empty chair, was slightly incoherent…putting words in the mouth of an invisible President Obama. Going from one topic to another, from the economy, the war in Afghanistan and the detention centers in Guantanamo Bay. Rambling for a grand total of eleven minutes and if you remembered anything from what he said..or did….one thing will forever be embedded in your memory bank, the sight of the actor addressing an ‘empty chair.’

At one point, the actor said he “never thought it was a good idea for attorneys to be president,” apparently unaware that Romney holds a law degree.

The most prolific moment of his speech was when he said “what I’ve heard from non-journalist, non-political people for the last two years is that President Obama hasn’t delivered on his promises, and now things are worse. There’s a growing sense, that’s been growing for a while, that President Obama doesn’t know or care what he’s doing, that he’s an empty suit.

Since Eastwood’s speech last night there has been an onslaught of media that says Eastwood was a flop, a mistake of epic proportions.

My thoughts..? Well, one thing for sure… Clint Eastwood is an icon….he connects with real people.

After Eastwood’s onstage performance the Obama campaign felt the need to respond with a tweet saying, “This seat’s taken” and a picture of President Obama sitting in his chair in the White House Cabinet Room.

LeAnn Rimes’ in treatment center for anxiety and stress not drugs

Leann Rimes has been a trending topic the past couple of days, behind misplaced reports that she had checked herself in a rehab due to drugs or quite possibly a eating disorder.

According to TMZ, Rimes is not in rehab for drug use or an eating disorder for that matter. The singer has voluntarily checked into treatment center to help cope with anxiety and stress related to a group of people reportedly bullying her on Twitter.

In addition to seeking treatment, she has also sought out legal counsel to deal with the problem, recently retaining Attorney Larry Stein.

Stein, told the celebrity gossip site that Rimes recently spoke to one of the alleged bullies on the phone, and unbeknownst to the singer, the person recorded the call and published the recording around the internet.

Recording a call without consent from both parties on the line is illegal in California.

Earlier in the week Rimes filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against the two bully’s Kimberly and Lexi Smiley and other individuals (whose names she has yet to uncover), for invasion of privacy, claiming they have orchestrated a “campaign of harassment” against her since she began dating her husband, Eric Cibrian. The two were married in April 2011 and their relationship has remained a subject of tabloid fascination, due in part to them being married to other people when it started.

The suit also states that Rimes has put up with their “campaign of harassment in the hope they would tire of posting false and defamatory statements,” but the “outrageous conduct” has only been escalating and Rimes “can no longer merely hope” the behavior will stop.

In June Roberts shared that she has MDS, a blood and bone marrow disease. She will be hospitalized next week to prepare for the surgery. The donor will be her older sister, Sally-Ann Roberts. Her immune system will need time to rebuild after the transplant, which is supposedly why Roberts’ absence will be extended.

Roberts’ sister appeared on the farewell show and the staff  also presented Roberts with a book filled with handwritten messages wishing her good luck.

A list of names were also released during the show of guests who will sit in during her leave. Barbara Walters, Sawyer, Katie Couric, Oprah Winfrey, Kelly Ripa, Rob Lowe and the cast of ABC’s “Modern Family,” were just a few named.

Eddie Murphy Dead? No, The Actor Is The Latest Celebrity Victim Of A Death Hoax

Getty Images

Funny man Bill Cosby ,73,is alive and well despite all the humbug on him being dead…yet again on yesterday. Yes,the veteran comedian is the latest victim of a not so elaborate, celebrity death hoax that has set the internet ablaze.

Bill Cosby - Gett Images

The funnyman became quite the trending topic when a “R.I.P Bill Cosby” page popped up on Facebook.

And Cosby has not been the only celebrity this week being killed off. There has been an onslaught of death hoaxes, most recently, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift  & Eddie Murphy.

Cosby is no stranger to death hoaxes. In 2010, the comedian was killed off any number of times, until in his exasperation, he told CNN news that “I don’t want to do this anymore, because this is my fourth time being reported [dead]“.

The comedian went on to say, “I don’t know. Maybe a psychiatrist will say I’m feeding [the rumor starter's] ego, but I just want to say to friends of that person: Just tell him to stop, because it isn’t funny,”

The response came after the comedian heard of a dear friend, left in tears, for fear the rumor was actually a fact.

Is It Time For the death Hoaxes to Stop? I don’t know about you, but in my humble opinion, YES it is! Before long, few of us will know what to believe as true or just a myth. It seems that many amongst the social network are also getting fed up with this ridiculous form of amusement by unknown hoaxers on Twitter and Facebook.

Below are some of the most popular tweets:

Bill Cosby has died….only on twitter…not in real life. Quit starting stupid twitter death hoaxes.” says annoyed @breakingnews

“Bill Cosby is alive. Stop with the death hoaxing. It’s not even funny.” adds @kevincjohnson

While @Bonitaappl3bomb says “Where is the chill button? I don’t think Bill Cosby really died smh people are way too bored”
